Pchum ben : (Spirits Festival)

A moving festival , usually at the end of September is a time when the spirits of the ancestors walk the streets .Their suffering can be eased with offering of food , which are taken to pagodas and temples throughout the festival .

Taking place in October or November .This is the most celebrated and exotic of the Khmer festival .It celebrates the changing of the currents in the Tonle sap and Mekong River and is celebrated by boat races and fireworks .
